The following information has been gleaned from the record books in the ringing chamber. We do not seem to have any records prior to 1968, and there is a gap between the end of one book and the start of the current one so anything between 25 Dec 1976 and 28 Jul 1981 inclusive is not recorded here.
According to the Felstead database, additional full peals were rung at Ampthill on 20/01/1900, 13/10/1900, 02/03/1901, 06/07/1901, 15/11/1902, 13/02/1937, 30/11/1949, 24/01/1955 (prior to our available records) and 26/03/1977, 07/06/1977, 13/08/1977, 03/12/1977, 17/03/1979, 18/08/1979, 01/12/1979, 29/11/1980 (during the "gap").
Quarters as well as full peals are listed, conductors are marked (C) and any any additional notes from the books are included.
While the information has been transcribed as accurately as possible, there are bound to be errors and omissions - please inform the Webmaster of any corrections! Names of methods and ringers are as written in the books, any that I am uncertain about have ? at the end, and any indecipherable letters or groups of letters are replaced by ... To trace some of the trickier names I have found the peal records on www.peals.co.uk to be an invaluable source; using this remarkably detailed database has also convinced me to leave these records as a modest list rather than trying to do anything clever with it! To search for a particular name use Edit, Find on your browser menu, and to navigate through the list use your Page Up and Page Down keys, Control-End to go the end of the list and Control-Home to go to the start.
