Ringers Rules from 1884 - we are in the process of finding out who the ringers were and where they lived - see 'The Band' page.

We don't know how old this board is, or what it was for - any ideas would be gratefully received!

This board records the first peal after the old ring of 5 was augmented to 6.

c1934: Ginger Stanbridge, Jim Major, Bill Stanbridge, Horace Rogers, Ernie Prestland, Bill Fossey at front

c1956: Diane Langford, Jean Payne, Mary Harris, Bert Holder, Judy Holder, Dougie Simms, and behind Horace Rogers, Keith Rogers, Jim Stonehouse

Peal rung in December 1970.

1974: including Jim Yates, a former Tower Captain, Horace Rogers and Arthur Davies, a former headmaster at Russell Primary School

29th November 1980 peal band - 10,080 Surprise Minor in 5 hrs 35 mins, rung for Patronal Festival and sponsored for the new bells.

Details of the peals rung in November 1980 (last on the old 6) and July 1981 (first on the new 8).

1982: Association Centenary AGM at Leighton Buzzard, attended by a couple of former Ampthill ringers and many current District ringers
